There’s a song that came out sometime in the past two decades that asked the age old question, “Did I shave my legs for this?” We’ve all been there haven’t we? We get dolled up because we are eager for positive attention, or because it’s something fun to do with friends. But as I get older, I realize more and more that no, I did not shave my legs for this. If I shave my legs- or if I do not- I do it for me. I shave my legs, I style my hair because it makes me feel good. That’s it. It helps me feel good in my own skin which gives me confidence. If I have confidence, then, of course, I’m going to get attention from other men and women.
I bought these new heels, did my nails
Had my hair done just right
I thought this new dress was a sure bet…
Did I shave my legs for this?
They say sex sells. The truth is CONFIDENCE sells. It is confidence that’s sexy. It’s confidence that fosters attraction. So what have you done to build your confidence lately? Have you left your comfort zone? Have you met new friends? Traveled alone to see how far you could go? What’s stopping you?
Shaving our legs is really just another example of the elements in our life we use as a scapegoat. We shave because we don’t like the feeling of hair on our legs, but we say it’s for a romantic partner. We say we can’t afford that dream vacation, but we spend five dollars a day on coffee. We’re full of excuses because we’re not confident in who we are and what’s important to us. Own your life. Own what YOU value. If you do, you’ll find a new, confident, irresistibly sexy you.
